My family started on May 29, 1971 when my father and mother were sealed for all time and eternity in Los Angeles Temple. Because of this all of us will live together for all time and eternity. We have 8 people in our family. (appearing oldest to youngest)

Degree: Mathematics
Profession: Math teacher, currently a visiting teacher at BYU.
Married to Janice on May 29, 1971 in the Los Angeles temple

More than anyone else my dad is an example to me in the priesthood. He baptized me on Oct. 22, 1988. He confirmed me, gave me the priesthood and was even my home teaching companion for a while. He is the patriarch of the family and leads us in righteousness. In short, he is everything you could ever want in a father.

I am forever grateful that growing up she took the time to stay home and raise my siblings and I. She brought us up to be hard-working, responsible, and faithful individuals. She took the time to teach us and nuture, which I am finding out is all too uncommon nowadays. I will be forever grateful for her sacrifice for us.

She has taken her role as the oldest seriously and has been an example to her younger siblings. She is a dedicated wife and mother of five. As a freshman at BYU she was the only member of my intermediate family in the state. She took me shopping, gave me advice, supported me in my activities and in all aspects made the transition to college life easier for me.

Name: Carrie Lyn Johanson
Mission: Vienna, Austria
Profession: Statistician for the U.S. Government

One of my favorite memories of me and my sister is when she flew me to Washington D.C. to spend a week with her. I spent the time seeing the sites of our nation's capital and visiting my sister. This is typical of her generosity and the importance she gives to her family.

Mission: Frankfurt, Germany

Before he left on his mission I was able to spend a semester with him at BYU. We had a lot of fun and I got to know him a lot better. While I was on my mission he turned into a stalwart young man. He is so easy to talk to and willing to listen to me. He is compassionate and a good intermedory.

Name: Jacob Alan Johanson
Mission: Guatemala City South, Guatemala

The youngest in the family. He is in his Senior year and is turning into a fine young man. He has grown up so much since I left for BYU and my mission. Everytime I read his letters I am surprised how much he has matured, both spiritually and physically.
