Welcome to the Spiritual Side of

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints . I know the church is true and would like to share my testimony with everyone. One of my happiest memories was when I was baptized at the age of 8 by the hand of my father, Douglas Johanson. My family is very important to me and I have made it one of my goals to be married in the temple and create a family of my own. One of the spiritual highlights was a two-year mission to Rio de Janeiro. I have had several callings to serve the Lord and plan to dedicate more time in the future. I love the Lord and His church.

My Testimony

I know that God lives and that he is perfect. My greatest desire is to return and live with him again some day with my family. However, I am not perfect as he is and cannot live in His presence unless I am cleaned of my sins. Being mortal, I cannot do this for myself, but need the help of another. Knowing this, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die as a sacrifice for our sins. All he requires is that I have faith in Him and repent of my sins so that I may be cleaned through his sacrifice.

Because of this, I am eternally indebted to him. I love Him and will do my all to serve Him and follow him so that through His help I may be cleaned of my sins and be prepared to return and once again live with my God. I started this path when I was baptized and thus was reborn, commiting myself to follow His paths and receiving the Holy Ghost to help me accomplish this. Because of this knowledge I am willing to do anything the Lord asks of me. I am so grateful to have this knowledge and I want to share this knowledge with all that I know so that they too may rejoice and prepare to live again with God.

I know these things are true because I asked God and He responded. God revealed these truths through His prophet Joseph Smith, whom he called in 1820 in response to a prayer. Through him, God revealed these truths and other truths that have been lost to the world since Biblical times. The Book of Mormon is one of these truths that has been restored by God through Joseph Smith. I have read this book and truely feel that it is God word. At the end of the book I encontered the following promise:

"And when you receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 10:4-5
I decided to ask Him, and if He was really there, He would respond. He didn't respond right away, but the response did come, strong and undeniable. He spoke directly to my heart and I felt a peace and a joy that confirmed to me that what I was reading was true. This confirmation eliminated all doubt, and I knew that indeed the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith is His prophet, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's church here upon the Earth. When you know that, nothing else matters. I would die for my beliefs and wish that everyone else would have the same oportunity that I had to find out these things for themselves.
